Date Minus Days Calculator
Enter start year, month and day plus days to subtract to see the earlier date.
What date was N days before?
Counting backward from a known date answers when something started, when to order materials, or when a notice period began. Enter the reference year, month and day as numbers, subtract whole days, and read the earlier YYYY-MM-DD with weekday. The same Gregorian rules as adding days apply — weekends and holidays are not skipped, so adjust manually for working-day contracts. Useful alongside project plans that quote “complete by” dates and need a kickoff or purchase lead time. Go forward with date plus days and measure spans with age in days.
Worked example
2026-09-22 − 30 days → 2026-08-23.
Limits and assumptions
Whole calendar days only. Not a working-day or SLA calendar.
