Carriers quote per parcel; finance needs an average cost per order for pricing and free-shipping thresholds. Sum shipping spend, packing materials and other fulfilment costs for a period, then divide by the order count in that same period. The tool reports all-in cost per order and a shipping-only per-order figure so you can see how much boxes and tape add. Heavy SKUs and remote postcodes will sit above the average — use the result as a catalogue baseline, not a promise for every line. £1,800 shipping + £220 packing + £80 other = £2,100 across 420 orders → £5.00 all-in per order (£4.29 shipping-only).
